Covi-pi-1 Design Attribution Agreement

This Agreement is between Luis Carlos Covilla Yarce (the "Author") and the person who requests access to Covi-pi-1 Design (the "Requester"). Covi-pi-1 Design means the design system's source code, components, design tokens, documentation, artwork and any part of them (the "Work").

1. The only way to get access

Access to the Work's private repository, its package and its source is granted only to a Requester who:

  1. reads and accepts this Agreement, in the version shown above;
  2. writes, in their own words, a personal attribution promise naming Covi-pi-1 Design; and
  3. signs by typing their full name.

The request form collects all three. A request without them is not processed. No other channel, message or arrangement gives access to the Work.

2. Licence

The Work is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). This Agreement adds the access condition above and the Requester's personal commitments below. The open-source fonts, icons and libraries the Work includes keep their own licences (see THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md).

3. What the Requester promises

By accepting this Agreement, the Requester promises to:

  1. Credit the Work in everything they make, publish or ship that uses the Work or is adapted from it: apps, websites, design files, packages, repositories, articles and presentations. The credit must include the name of the Work, the Author, the licence and a link, for example:
"Covi-pi-1 Design" by Luis Carlos Covilla Yarce, CC BY 4.0, https://coviyarce.github.io/covi-pi-1/
  2. Put the credit where people can find it: in the README or credits of a repository, an "About" or "Credits" page or screen of an app or site, and the licence notice of a package.
  3. Say what they changed when they adapt the Work (for example "adapted from Covi-pi-1 Design").
  4. Never present the Work, or a substantial part of it, as their own original work, and never remove or hide the Author's copyright, licence or attribution notices.
  5. Keep their access personal: not share their access with others, and not pass on the private source in a way that removes or hides the attribution.
  6. Keep THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md with any product that includes the Work.

4. The Requester's own promise and signature

The attribution promise the Requester writes in their own words forms part of this Agreement. The Requester's typed full name is their electronic signature. The Author keeps a record of each accepted request: the Requester's name, email address, GitHub username, the text of their promise, the version of this Agreement, the date and time, and the network address the request came from.

5. Use without attribution

Using the Work without the attribution described in section 3:

In that case the Author may revoke the Requester's access at once, ask for the uncredited use to be removed or corrected, and use any remedy the law allows. As section 6(b) of CC BY 4.0 provides, rights are reinstated if the breach is cured within 30 days of the Requester learning of it.

6. Changes to this Agreement

The Author may publish new versions of this Agreement. A new version applies to new requests. An accepted version stays in force for the Requester who accepted it.

This page is the published text of the Agreement; the Markdown copy is ATTRIBUTION_AGREEMENT.md. The version a Requester accepted is recorded with their request.
